Virtual Events

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month and many events were scheduled to bring awareness and engage with the community. 🌷

COVID- 19 Update: In response to the recommendations from the CDC, all events have been cancelled through the beginning of March. But don’t worry – Social distancing does not have to mean social isolation! Many organizations are switching their events from in person to virtual, meaning the information, speakers, panelists, and presentation will all happen online. This allows us to still engage as a community even though we are safe in our separate homes.

Innovations in Deep Brain Stimulation

We are partnering with Abbott Labs and Dr. Danish Bhatti from the Center for Movement Disorders at Nebraska Medicine to bring the community information and a discussion about Innovations in Deep Brain Stimulation.

Dr. Bhatti is a movement disorder neurologist and the Assistant Professor of the Department of Neurological Sciences and Co-Director of the Multidisciplinary Parkinson’s Disease Clinic at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

After the brief presentation, Dr. Bhatti will be answering questions from the audience. This is a great opportunity to ask a movement disorder specialist questions about Parkinson’s disease, especially if you are interested in DBS as a treatment option.
